31 Fun and Festive Books to Read in October

Oh, October, how I love thee! There is so many fun things to celebrate during these Fall months! For October I picked a mix of fall books, pumpkin books, and a few Halloween books. We celebrate Halloween but I am not into the spooky stuff so our Halloween titles are pretty G rated. There are a few bear books sprinkled in, because I guess bears just feel little fall-ish? The only “extra” holiday is national chocolate day and the book for that day is an extra sweet story about the life of Milton Hershey that you don’t want to miss. I might have to grab a few Hershey bars to enjoy while we read that one! We have read and book on this list. Some are our very favorites and some are new to us this season. I promise we enjoyed them all and I have added a few titles to my Thriftbooks wish list hoping to snag a used copy for our collection.

If you are wanting to build a seasonal and holiday library I highly recommend starting with a list like this. Check them out from the library and find out which ones you really love and would want to own, if any. Then you can slowly build a little home collection of favorites to pull out and enjoy each season/holiday. It really is a fun way to make memories and they become their own little tradition. If you can’t find a title or two at your library check online for a YouTube read aloud to listen to!

So print the list and put a few on hold to enjoy all month long! I’ve really enjoyed having a special book to read each day, but of course you could read a few here and there as well. It’s always fun to read a stack of books with the same theme.

If you didn’t see my first monthly book list in September you cane check it out HERE. There are lots of fun fall reads on that list that you could still enjoy!

Happy reading friends! I can’t wait to hear what books you loved!
