5 Fun Halloween Traditions

It’s hard to believe October is drawing to an end and Halloween is nearly upon us. I definitely do not go too crazy  for Halloween, but since becoming a Mama I have found a few fun Halloween traditions that I really do enjoy. We keep Halloween pretty G rated with more of a focus on the cutesy than the spooky.  We love all the gimmes- pumpkin carving, trick or treating, CANDY…but here are some more Halloween traditions we are looking forward to this year. Jack O’ Lantern Burgers. This is one tradition that we did growing up. It’s super simple but makes an ordinary family meal a little festive. All you have to do is carve faces into sliced cheese before you melt it on the burger! Last year we upped our game with “boo-nilla” milkshakes. img_6275It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Movie Night. If you haven’t noticed we love to mark each holiday with the Peanuts gang. My boys love movie nights, they are always excited for the festive treats. I try to keep it simple—popcorn, charlie brown cookies (aka a cookie with a chocolate zig-zag stripe) Last year we attempted to do ours outside…garage movies are cool, too!   Holiday Jammies. Festive Pajamas are kinda our jam. I cant help myself, the festive attire just makes book reading and family movie night all the more fun! I don’t spend a lot. The littles wear hand me downs and I pick up a set for my oldest on the cheap. IMG_5693 (1)A Black and Orange Feast. Who doesn’t love a themed lunch, dinner or snack. Serve all the orange and black foods you can think of, or in my case, that my boys will eat. Carrots, oranges, black olives, Cheeze it’s, Oreo’s… “Boo” Someone with Treats. You’ve probably seen this floating a round the internet. It’ll be a new one that will be new for us this year. I’m excited to surprise someone and hopefully make their day brighter. Check out this post for more inspiration. Besides the never ending saga of costume indecisiveness we are pretty excited for all the festivities. What fun do you have planned for the upcoming week?
