A Simple & Festive Peter Rabbit Movie Night

Peter Rabbit is one of my top 5 all time favorite animated movies, and I happen to think it’s the perfect movie for a Spring Movie Night. To really make the theme come to life I highly recommend reading The Adventures of Peter Rabbit before viewing the movie! It’s fun to introduce the story and characters in their original literary form and then let them come to life with the movie. No Book/movie night would be complete without a few themed movie snacks, am I right? Don’t worry, Peter Rabbit movie night snacks are super easy to pull off!

For starters you are going to need some veg-I mean the movie centers around the garden. Carrots are a favorite here, but you could do a whole veggie tray situation depending on how well your family likes to eat vegetables.

Of course, if I presented a veggie tray as the main snacks for movie night I’m pretty sure I would have a riot on my hand so I love this spring/bunny snack mix to keep everyone a little less McGregor-ish.

There isn’t a recipe really- just add in what you like! Here are a few fun options:

  • Cheddar bunnies
  • Popcorn
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Marshmallows (bunnie tails)
  • Pastel M&Ms
  • Gummy Worms
  • Chex cereal
  • peanuts
  • egg shaped Easter candies

For an extra fun detail serve the snack mix in little terra cotta pots, or mix it all up in a big (clean) terra cot pot and then serve in cute paper cups with a little cotton ball tail glued on!

And finally, if you are really feeling the theme you can make these adorable bunny cookies. THIS recipe is for a bear, but make a few little adjustments and you can create bunnies! Make the ears longer and place two small balls of dough on the face, instead of the one used for the bears. I also used mini chocolate chips for the eyes, and a mini m&m would be perfect for the nose.

There you have it, a super easy Spring-themed movie night! What are some of your favorite Spring-y movies the whole family enjoys?

Happy Spring!
