Seasonal “bucket lists” are very popular. I’ve been making these type of lists for a while now, but recently heard the term “live list” and fell in love. I always hated the term “bucket list”. It just seemed a little morbid to me. I learned about the Live List from @kellyejenson on instagram. She is an amazingly inspirational mother who makes live lists with her family. She shares about it on her ig account, but I thought I’d share my little spin on it. A live list is a tool to help me live more intentionally with my family. A way to get us out of a rut and to spark a little joy and adventure in our lives. A way to bond and create special memories with my favorite people. A small way to set goals and dream. I really love creating memories with my guys, and I don’t want to miss out on all each season (of the year and this life) has to offer. I’m sharing how I like to make our lists, but totally make it your own, there’s no wrong way! My way differs from Kelly’s, I think they do more unique one-time experiences, and I include a lot of traditions, but I think the intention is the same—quality family time. – We make one for each season. It just works for me, plus you know I’m a sucker for seasonal activities. – I start with seasonal activities and traditions. For example in the fall we might include “crunch leaves”. – Then I add things we’ve been wanting to do and ideas/suggestions from my boys. – We don’t currently have much of a budget for entertainment so we try to come up with cheap/free activities. – We include activities that might help us build a skill or learn a life lesson. Service work or maybe a new hobby/sport to try. – We try to keep it manageable. This is hard for me, sometimes I want to do all.the.things, but I am learning less is more. – I try to display it in some way to help remind us to cross things off the list!
Head over to instagram and check out Kelly’s account. She is so genuine and inspiring! Then start making a list!
