Saint Book Round-Up: Our Favorite Books for Learning About the Saints

All Saints Day is just around the corner and I thought it would be the perfect time to share some of our favorite books about Saints. I love a good Saint story, and have really enjoyed creating a little library of saint books for my kids. They have been great to have on and whenever we celebrate a Feast day, and as part of our homeschool curriculum. We have a couple of books that are specific to one particular Saint, but I love books that have a collection of Saint stories. These treasuries are great for learning about new Saints and they give you more bang for your buck! I also have a couple books about how we are each called to holiness and to strive to be a saint. I think Saint books are a great gift for Easter, Baptism, First Communion or even to celebrate a baptismal day. They are a great gift for godchildren as well.

Here are some of our favorites:

Saints Around the World by Meg Hunter-Kilmer This is one of our news Saint books, and we really enjoy it. We are using this as part of our homeschool curriculum to learn about new to us Saints. I love the sweet pictures, and the author’s conversational style of writing.

Stories of the Saints by Carey Wallace Another great Saint treasury. It has a unique style of art, that is captivating, but could be a little dark/scary for a more sensitive or younger kid. It features a lot of historical Saints. My 9 year old actually read it like a chapter books right after we got it for Easter.

Boy Saints for Little Ones and Girl Saints for Little Ones by Kimberly Fries. We have the first volume of each of these. They are small books that each feature 12 different Saints with a beautiful portrait and a small biography.

You Were Born to Be a Saint by Kortnee Senn is a sweet book that introduces different Saints from A-Z while also discussing the idea that we are each called to be a saint in our own unique way. a great book for celebrating All Saints Day and a perfect baptism gift!

A Saint in the Making by Lisa M Henley is another fun book that talks about our individual call to be a saint.

Sitting with the Saints: Catholic Mindfulness for Kids. I love this book, it introduces 14 different Saints, while also introducing the practice of mindfulness. Each Saint is introduced by sharing about the Saint with a calming activity that my kids really enjoy.
