Super-Book-Bowl! Our Children’s Book Play-off Bracket

Did you watch any playoff games this weekend? Football is a very big deal at my house. My 11 year old loves football, from the draft to stats to flag football and fantasy football…it’s pretty much year round! Last year we enjoyed participating in Brighter Day Press’s March Madness Book Bracket and I couldn’t resist putting together our own football version! So I give you our Super-Book-Bowl playoff bracket!

Picking these 14 books was harder than I anticipated! I wanted to pick great books that we love, while avoiding books that were too theme/season specific! It was a real challenge given my deep love of holiday books! I ended up with a list of 14 books that I have enjoyed over the years. Ones that brought smiles to our faces or connected us together. Each book is special for one reason or another…the message, the rhyming, the characters or maybe the illustrations. I hope you will find a new favorite for your home in the mix of our favorites!

We would love to see you participate with us! Download the list and get as many of the books from the library as you can! Then start filling out your bracket! You can even come vote for your favorite books on my Instagram later this week!

Now my son has informed me that my bracket isn’t truly like the NFL bracket, because of how they use seeding…but that felt way to complicated so we are definitely doing a modified version!

Here are links to the books being read aloud online just in case you can’t get your hands on a copy or the cold temperatures have you leaving the house only when you have to!

A Day So Gray

Lola Dutch, I Love You So Much

Dozen’s of Doughnuts

The Library Lion

Adventures with Barefoot Critters

Mrs. Muddle’s Holiday’s

Cocoa Magic

The Invisible Boy

The Pink Umbrella

The Golden Glow

The Perfect Picnic

A Visitor for Bear

The Squirrels Who Squabbled

Those Darn Squirrels

I hope this little book bracket brings some joy to your January and February! With these temperatures in Kansas we could sure use it! Speaking of Kansas…Go Chiefs!!!

Happy Reading! Please share your bracket winner here or over on Instagram! I’d love to hear!
