Holiday books are one of my favorite parts of each season, but to be honest our collection of Thanksgiving books have always been a little disappointing. This year I am happy to report that I filled up our library holds and have found some new-to-me Thanksgiving books that I really love! Check them out: Thanksgiving in the Woods
This sweet story about a family’s tradition of hosting a Thanksgiving in the woods has beautiful illustrations and made me want to hang all the twinkle lights and move Thanksgiving outside. Balloons over Broadway
We enjoyed this story about the man who pioneered the 1st balloons for the Macy Thanksgiving Day parade is a really interesting read that left us excited to watch the parade this year! Thank you, Sarah
Until this year I’d never heard the story of Sarah Josepha Hale, but I have to admit I am pretty inspired by this woman who persevered to make Thanksgiving a national Holiday. Other Turkey Day books we enjoy: Give Thanks for Everyday by Metzger A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting The 1st Thanksgiving (lift the flap board book) by Katherine Davis Thanksgiving Day Thanks by Elliot Thanksgiving for Emily Ann by Johnston We are always on the hunt for new books, so please share…do you have a favorite Thanksgiving book?
